Jeff Sheppard
Antony was born and raised in Melbourne and began a jewellery-trade apprenticeship with D.E. & W.E. Warner when he was 15.
 
In 1986 he started his own jewellery-manufacturing business from the same premises, operating as Lane Jewellers.
 
Since then he’s handled work for most of Melbourne’s most renowned goldsmiths and jewellers, and has also trained two apprentices.
 
In 2004 Antony became a qualified gemmologist, diamond grader & technician and registered jewellery valuer.
 
He entered the J.A.A. Diamond Awards contest in 1999 and was a Finalist also entered the J.A.A Pearl Awards in 2000 and was a Finalist.
 
In 2004 Antony joined with Jeff Sheppard to establish Amulet Goldsmiths in the Hub Arcade in Melbourne City.
In the 1970’s and 80’s Jeff served a four-year apprenticeship at Rhon Rae Productions, regarded as one of Sydney’s most renowned manufacturing jewellers.
 
This gave him detailed training in every aspect of jewellery making at the highest level under experienced master craftsman. 
 
Jeff stayed with Rhon Rae for ten years before moving to London to work in the famed Hatton Garden gold district.
 
Back in Australia he moved to Melbourne in 1991 and worked for a major jewellery company before establishing his own business making unique one-off designs and handling restoration work for some of the City’s leading antique and estate jewellers and auction houses. 
 
With Antony Lane he set up Amulet Goldsmiths in 2004.
